While Nigerian rappers are too concerned
about scoring that Wizkd-esque club banger, some others are addressing
topical issues affecting their environs and the country in general.
Ghost (Olumide Ayeni) and Tec (Wale Davies) who make up the rap group Show Dem Camp
have issues – issues with the way the society perceives governance,
issues with the way Nigerians reacted to the Subsidy brouhaha, issues
with the way their ‘haters’ react to how they pop champagne in the club.
Fearless and mindless of the outcome,
the talented duo go all out on the second installment of their ‘The
Clone Wars Vol 2:The Subsidy’, going as far as putting Nigeria’s number
one citizen on the mixtape art, addressing national issues over Hip-hop
instrumentals.
This whole album is worth every space on your phones, iPads, and iPods.
